BARTENDER
Position Summary: Bartenders are expected to display the highest standards of hospitality to all guests who visit The Okoboji Store Bar and Kitchen. Duties include taking orders for our guests and serving food and beverages to them in a friendly, timely, and efficient manner.
 
Responsibilities:
       -Greet guests upon their arrival welcome them to our establishment in a friendly and timely manner
       -Present menus to patrons, answer questions about menu items, making recommendations upon request, and upselling our menu
       -Explain how various menu items are prepared, describing ingredients and cooking methods
       -Serve food and beverages to patrons quickly and accurately
       -Check with customers to ensure that they are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems 
       -Prepare checks that itemize and total meal costs for both single checks and split checks
       -Correctly process payments using credit cards, cash, gift cards, and checks
       -Remove dishes and glasses from tables or counters, and take them to kitchen for cleaning
       -Stock service areas with supplies such as beer, liquor, food, tableware, and linens
       -Accurately pour, mix, and prepare alcoholic beverages in accordance with restaurant guidelines for bar customers and wait staff
       -Check patrons' identification in order to ensure that they meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages
Requirements: 
       -Ability to work effectively under pressure in a demanding environment
       -Ability to work as a team and communicate effectively with staff
       -Ability to present oneself in a professional and friendly manner 
        -Previous restaurant and bar experience not required
